Grid Creator filter ver. 1.0 (international version)

The Grid Creator filter is a plug-in filter used to create a grid pattern in Adobe Photoshop. The filter was created using the Filter Factory, a scriptable plug-in found on the Adobe Photoshop 3.0x Deluxe CD-ROM. While the Grid Creator filter itself is freeware, the copyright of the Filter Factory portion is owned by Adobe Systems Incorporated. You can distribute this filter freely as long as the original archive file is unaltered.
The idea for the Grid Creator filter was born inﾒPhotoshop Tamatebako,ﾓ a SIG in the Graphic Forum (FGRAPHIC) of NIFTY-Serve (one of the largest electronic network services in Japan). The original script for creating simple grid patterns was written by nob (Noboru Takahashi); Etsuro Endo added extensive functionality (offset, color, transparency, etc.) with some help on scripting from Yasuyuki Shimizu.

Like other Photoshop plug-in filters, simply copy the Grid Creator filter into your Plug-ins folder and restart Photoshop.
･･･ How to use ･･･
The Grid Creator is a simple plug-in filter that generates grids on an active image in Photoshop. Select an existing layer, or create a new layer, as the target layer, then choose Grid>Grid Creator from the Filter menu. Note that Grid Creator works only with RGB images.
From the dialog box, you can specify parameters listed below.
･ Interval X: Interval of the X (horizontal) axis grid. (Unit: pixels)
･ Interval Y: Interval of the Y (vertical) axis grid. (Unit: pixels)
･ Width X: Width of the X (horizontal) axis grid. (Unit: pixels)
･ Width Y: Width of the Y (vertical) axis grid. (Unit: pixels)
･Color/Image: If the slider is set to 255 (default), the grid will be made of the original image. If the slider is set between 0 and 254, the grid pattern will be made of a solid color. (64 colors available. 0 for pure black and 254 for pure white)
･Opacity: Adjusts the opacity for the grid pattern. 0 is full opaque and 255 is full transparent.

Due to the nature of the current version of the Filter Factory plug-in, the preview image is not perfect WYSIWYG. The preview image will be automatically scaled to fit in the preview area, although the grid pattern itself remains at 1:1 zoom ratio.

The ﾒGrid Creator.afsﾓ file contains the original script of the Grid Creator filter. If you are interested in how the filter works, try loading the .afs file using the ﾒLoadﾓ button in the Filter Factory plug-in dialog box. The Filter Factory plug-in itself can be found in the ﾒOther Goodiesﾓ folder on Adobe Photoshop 3.0x Deluxe CD-ROM. The Filter Factory plug-in is an optional one and cannot be installed with the Adobe Photoshop installer. The Filter Factory plug-in is not available on the floppy disk set of Photoshop.
